ASTM A179 carbon steel wound L fin tubes with Al1060 aluminum fins are high-efficiency heat transfer components specially designed for economizers in boiler systems. The base tube is manufactured in accordance with ASTM A179/A179M, which specifies cold-drawn low-carbon seamless steel tubes with good thermal conductivity and mechanical strength suitable for heat exchange service. The fins are made of 1060 pure aluminum (Al ≥99.6%), featuring ultra-high thermal conductivity, excellent formability, and corrosion resistance in low-temperature flue gas environments.
 
L-shaped fin strip is tightly wound onto the outer surface of the base tube under controlled tension, forming a stable and low thermal resistance bonding structure. This type of finned tube significantly increases the external heat transfer area, strengthens flue gas turbulence, and effectively recovers waste heat from low-temperature boiler flue gas to heat feedwater. It helps reduce exhaust gas temperature, improve overall boiler efficiency, and save fuel consumption.This L type of fin tubes is widely used in low-temperature economizers of industrial boilers and utility boilers, especially suitable for working conditions where the flue gas temperature is generally below 150℃, with low dust content and non-corrosive medium.

Advantages

High Heat Transfer Efficiency:

L-type wound fin design significantly expands the heat transfer area (8-12 times that of bare tubes) and disturbs the flue gas flow, breaking the laminar boundary layer and increasing the heat transfer coefficient by 40-60%, thus realizing efficient waste heat recovery in low-temperature economizers.
 

Cost-Effective Performance

 

Excellent Corrosion Resistance & Long Service Life:

In the low-temperature flue gas environment of boiler economizers (usually ≤ 150℃), the Al1060 fins can naturally form a dense oxide film on the surface, effectively resisting sulfur corrosion and condensation corrosion. The ASTM A179 carbon steel base tube has moderate strength (tensile strength ≥ 325 MPa, yield strength ≥ 180 MPa) and good pressure resistance, which can withstand the working pressure of boiler feedwater and ensure long-term stable operation.
 

Compact & Lightweight Design:

Under the same heat transfer requirement, the L-type wound fin tube has a smaller volume and lighter weight than traditional bare tubes or other types of finned tubes.
 

Strong Adaptability to Working Conditions:

This product is specially designed for boiler economizers, perfectly matching the working conditions of low-temperature flue gas (120-300℃) and boiler feedwater/condensate (20-150℃). It is widely applicable to low-temperature economizers and waste heat recovery systems of power station boilers and industrial boilers, and can replace traditional bare tube economizers and some G-type/LL-type finned tubes, with strong versatility and adaptability.
