ASME SB111 C44300 (Admiralty Brass) U‑Bend Heat Exchanger Tube is a seamless, cold‑drawn copper‑zinc‑tin‑arsenic alloy tube manufactured to ASTM B111/ASME SB111 specification, formed into a U‑shape with two parallel straight legs, specifically designed for use in shell‑and‑tube heat exchangers where the tube side fluid requires a U‑bundle configuration to allow thermal expansion without a floating head.
The client should provide complete size of required U bend tube before quoting: tube diameter, min/avg thickness, bending radius, length of straight legs and quantity.
 
C44300’s speciality compared to nickel alloys is its combination of ultra‑high thermal conductivity, low cost, excellent biofouling resistance, and ease of fabrication – making it the preferred choice for clean seawater and fresh water cooling duties below 200°C, where nickel alloys would be expensive overkill.

Why Choose Grade C44300 Admiralty Brass over Nickel Alloys?

Choose C44300 when you need high heat transfer, low cost, and good biofouling resistance in clean seawater or fresh water at moderate velocities (1–3 m/s) and temperatures below 200°C. Nickel alloys are unnecessary overkill for these conditions – they cost 3–8× more, transfer heat poorly, and are difficult to fabricate into U‑bends.

It's genuine 321H — titanium-stabilized, so no worries about sensitization or intergranular corrosion during welding. Our welder said it welded nicely with no cracking.
